Upon the invitation of Mr. Liu Jiayi, Auditor General of the National Audit Office of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. László Domokos, President of SAO visits Beijing in January. Following bilateral talks, the President of the State Audit Office of Hungary also pays a visit to the Beijing Municipal Audit Office. Presenting the results in the field of introducing International Standards of Supreme Audit Institutions (ISSAI) and other current professional issues of audit head the agenda of the talks.
The supreme audit institutions of the two countries have been keeping up working relations since the 1990s. In 2002, former Auditor General, Mr. Li Jinhua visited Budapest. In 2004, several staff members of SAO attended an international IT seminar in China. Throughout the following years, SAO hosted numerous delegations from China, who could gain information on the budgetary structure, social security funds, local governments, and the audit of these fields. In 2008 we informed the senior management of CNAO on our activities as Chairman of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) between 2004-2007. China has successfully run for the chairmanship of INTOSAI and will be holding the position between 2013-2016.
At the end 2010 the Auditor General of China invited his Hungarian counterpart for an official visit. During the talks conducted in 2011 with high-level staff members of CNAO, Mr. Domokos also touched upon the possibilities of a long-term co-operation.
