16 January 2012Dr. Árpád Kovács is the new President of the Fiscal Council
Following the resignation of Dr. Zsigmond Járai, Dr. Pál Schmitt, President of the Hungary has appointed Dr. Árpád Kovács, former President of the SAO as Head of the Fiscal Council of Hungary. On 10 January 2012, Dr. Pál Schmitt, President of Hungary, appointed Dr. Árpád Kovács as Head of the Fiscal Council in a solemn ceremony; after Dr. Zsigmond Járai had resigned from this post. Dr. Árpád Kovács is former President of the State Audit Office of Hungary and current President of the Hungarian Economic Association. Dr. Tihamér Warvasovszky, Vice-President of the SAO and Dr. András Simor, Governor of the National Bank of Hungary also attended the event, which took place in Sándor Palace, residence of the head of state.
