The professional relationship between the Hungarian Central Statistical Office and the State Audit Office of Hungary continues to strengthen

Dr. László Windisch, President of the State Audit Office of Hungary (SAO), and Dr. Áron Kincses, President of the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (HCSO), signed a framework cooperation agreement on January 22, 2026. Under the agreement, the HCSO will establish competence working groups related to key sectors and professional areas, thereby supporting the SAO’s expertise and audit activities.

The primary objective of the agreement is to establish the professional and technical framework for information exchange between the two organisations, as well as to develop a unified and transparent methodology for future data transfers.

The framework agreement includes the establishment of general rules and regulations applicable to future individual agreements, and the definition of rules governing communication between the institutions.

Under the agreement, expert working groups will be established in areas including agriculture and environmental protection, healthcare, energy, public transportation, culture, education, social services and regional development. The working groups will provide expert support on issues related to HCSO data and offer advisory services to the SAO.

As part of this collaboration, the two organisations will jointly organise professional events and conferences, and relevant employees and managers from both organisations will be able to participate in training and further training courses organised by the institutions.

At the signing ceremony, Dr. László Windisch, President of the SAO, and Dr. Áron Kincses, President of the HCSO, emphasised that the aim of the cooperation is to further deepen and strengthen the long-standing relationship between the two institutions, which is based on mutual trust and a high level of professional partnership.
