Presidential participation in the annual EU Contact Committee meeting

On 19-20 November 2025, the National Audit Office of Malta hosted the annual meeting of the European Court of Auditors and the presidents of the supreme audit institutions of the EU Member States. The central theme of the meeting was enhancing the competitiveness of the European Union, a major strategic challenge for the EU and its Member States, including SAIs.

Participants worked together to explore how national SAIs can promote innovation and increase competitiveness in the EU and in individual Member States through their audits.

As the Contact Committee’s mission is to promote the exchange of professional knowledge and experience in auditing EU funds and EU-related issues – areas with strong implications for competitiveness – this year’s meeting was also focusing on auditing EU funds at the national level.
