New Vice-President of the State Audit Office of Hungary is appointed

Announcement of the State Audit Office of Hungary.

Magdolna Holman resigned from her position as Vice-President of the State Audit Office of Hungary (SAO) with effect from 30 November 2022. The former Vice-President has been working at the State Audit Office of Hungary since 2003. She started her carrier as an auditor at the SAO. Over the last almost two decades she has been in charge of several professional audit areas, until she was appointed as the Vice-President of the SAO of Hungary on 20 July 2020. Her resignation was accepted by the President of the SAO of Hungary while recognizing her merits. In the future she will continue her work as Chief advisor to the President and will support the organizational and methodological renewal of the SAO.

Dr. László Windisch, President of the SAO of Hungary, has appointed dr. Csaba Szomolai as Vice-President for 12 years, with effect from 1 January 2023. The new Vice-President arrives to the SAO from the Hungarian Bankholding Ltd. (Magyar Bankholding Zrt.), where he has been currently working since 2021 as the Deputy CEO for Risk Management. The new Vice-President is an economist-lawyer professional having a decade and a half experience in supervision and auditing, since 2006 he has been involved in the supervision of financial institutions – initially as an employee of the Hungarian Financial Supervisory Authority and later of the Central Bank of Hungary. From 2013 as a director, and from 2017 as an executive director he was responsible for the legal matters of financial supervision. In 2017, he became a member of the Financial Stability Council of the Central Bank of Hungary.
