On 10 September 2025, a bilateral meeting took place between the State Audit Office of Hungary and the Board of Audit and Inspection of Korea at the SAO Headquarters in Budapest. The delegations, led by Vice-President dr. Csaba Szomolai and Commissioner Kim in Hoe, reviewed the SAO’s analysis and audit experiences related to climate change, ecological sustainability and the evaluation of climate policy objectives. At the meeting, the heads of delegations highlighted that the assessment and analysis activities of Supreme Audit Institutions can significantly support the management of the complex challenges posed by climate change.

Active professional dialogue between the Board of Audit and Inspection of Korea and the State Audit Office of Hungary
The audit objectives and approaches of the Board of Audit and Inspection of Korea (BAI) and the State Audit Office of Hungary (SAO) show many similarities, therefore, experts from the BAI and the SAO have held several consultations on key audit matters in recent years. During these meetings, Korean and Hungarian colleagues also shared their experiences in the areas of developing audit expertise and capacities as well as audits aimed at strengthening the transparency of the public finance system.
