On 26 November 2024, Dr. László Windisch, President of the State Audit Office of Hungary welcomed Mehriddin Abdullayev, First Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Accounts of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and his delegation at his Office. In the framework of the bilateral meeting, the Hungarian and Uzbek supreme audit institutions concluded a Memorandum of Understanding document on sharing methodological and technological knowledge to support the development of public auditing.
To mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the State Audit Office of the Republic of Croatia, a conference was organised in Zagreb on 20-21 November 2024. The State Audit Office of Hungary (SAO) was represented at the event by Vice-President Dr. Csaba Szomolai.
The audit including five SAIs coordinated by the State Audit Office of Hungary focusing on the sustainability of water and wastewater management has been completed. Besides the SAO of Hungary, the State Audit Office of the Republic of Croatia, the Supreme Audit Office of the Republic of Poland, the State Audit Institution of the Republic of Serbia and the Accounting Chamber of Ukraine also took part in the audit.
At the National Tax and Customs Administration’s (NTCA) commemoration event of the 1956 Revolution, Ferenc Vágujhelyi, President of the NTCA, awarded Dr. László Windisch the “Statuette for Taxation” for his activities as President of the Hungarian Association of Financial and Economic Auditors (MPGE).
The Romanian Court of Accounts, celebrating its 160th anniversary, hosted several prestigious international events in Bucharest from 16-19 September 2024. The State Audit Office of Hungary (SAO) was represented by its Vice-President, Dr Monika Karas.

On the occasion of 180th anniversary of the original establishment of the State Audit Institution of Serbia, a high-level event was organised in Belgrade on 24-26 July 2024, at which the State Audit Office of Hungary was represented by its Vice-President, Dr. Csaba Szomolai.
The State Audit Office of Hungary (SAO) is required by law to audit every two years the financial management of political parties that have received regular funding from the central budget. The newly published reports present the results of the audits of the Democratic Coalition (DK), the Jobbik – Conservatives (Jobbik), the Hungarian Socialist Party (MSZP) and the LMP – Hungary’s Green Party (LMP).

The second meeting of the EUROSAI Project Group Project Group on Benefits and Methodologies of Real Time Audit took place on 4-5 June 2024. The two-day event was hosted by the State Audit Office of Hungary (SAO) in Budapest, where SAIs from 19 countries were represented and shared their experience and methodologies on the subject.
