The report of the State Audit Office of Hungary (SAO) on the audit of MNB (the central bank of Hungary) is now public. The audit focused mainly on real estate investments made by MNB through the business companies it set up. According to the SAO, the MNB did not always meet the requirements of economical operation, and the controls over its financial management were not fully fulfilled.

The SAO found that the investments did not comply with the requirements of responsible financial management. Budapest-Capital Regional Court: the State Audit Office of Hungary acted lawfully in its audit of campaign financing

In its verdicts of 18 March 2025, the Budapest-Capital Regional Court found that the Hungarian State Treasury acted lawfully on the basis of the audits conducted by the State Audit Office of Hungary (SAO) on the subject of party financing. The SAO, acting within the scope of its duties, lawfully carried out the audit.

The State Audit Office of Hungary (SAO) has completed its performance audit on the effectiveness of measures related to digital agriculture and the uptake of digital solutions for the years 2019-2023. Based on the audit, the SAO found that the use of digital tools and technologies has been effective in optimising processes and reducing costs. However, farmers have only partially used data from precision farming tools to make agricultural decisions, and it is necessary to further encourage farm-level data use and data-based decision-making.

The State Audit Office of Hungary (SAO) audited the utilisation of the housing stock owned by three districts of the capital and three cities with county rights between 2018 and the first half of 2023. The findings include that although the number of low-comfort housing units has decreased in all six local governments, the low level of spending on development and renovation poses a risk to preserving the value and condition of the housing stock owned by the local governments.
